The Williamson County Public Library Writers Group

The Williamson County Public Library Writers Group was organized as a spinoff of the Nashville Writers Alliance in August of 2006.

The group meets on the first Thursday of every month from 6 pm to 8:00 pm at the Williamson County Public Library on Columbia Pike in Franklin, Tennessee.

The next meeting will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2007, when Tennessean and author Darnell Arnoult will speak to us.

In our typical meeting, 6 writers will each have 20 minutes to read their work and receive comments. Over our first three meetings, we've had a total of 15 writers read from their works. In order to make sure you have a spot to read at the Janaury meeting, you must email us and receive a notice that your time slot has been approved.

All writers are welcome to attend, but 20 minute slots will be allocated by the Executive Committee

All meetings will begin precisely at 6 PM, and end precisely at 8 PM. If you are a reader who has reserved a spot and are unable to attend, you must contact us before the meeting.

All readers will have exactly 20 minutes. This includes both their reading, as well as verbal comments

Only readers may provide verbal comments at each meeting

Non reading attendees are encouraged to submit written comments to each reader. Comments to be placed in boxes set up for each reader at the meeting. Comment forms will be handed out at the beginning of each meeting to non-reading attendees

The format of our January 4 meeting will be different, since Ms. Arnoult will be speaking to us. I have set aside the first hour for Ms. Arnoult, and the last hour for readings by our group members. Slots will be fifteen minutes in length this time. To reserve a slot, email me at email@michaelpatrickleahy.com
